FFXIV’s Megashiba mount is trending across Japan to the dismay of dog owners who shared the images of their Shiba Inu — AUTOMATON West
A brand new mount available for purchase called The Megashiba is included in Final Fantasy XIV. Thanks to its exceptional appearance and its fluffy, round tail, it has attracted players’ attention. This is why the hashtag # Chai Quan unto (#ShibaInuMount) began trending on Twitter within Japan. In the wake of FFXIV players and dog owners sharing pictures from their Shiba Inu as virtual and real, The hashtag has grown into the ultimate destination for lovers of adorable dogs.
The Megashiba mount was announced on June 30, at the same time that it was put on sale. The hashtag #ShibaInuMount quickly increased in popularity, mostly through the people who bought the latest item. People were posting pictures and sharing their thoughts on what the Megashiba was like to ride when the hashtag started to trend for a short period on Twitter.

This could be due to the hashtag needing to be clearer. It was a reference to a video game. However, it eventually became popular among people unaware of the game FFXIV. Some Twitter users confused “mount” as not something you can play with in a game; however, it was more like claiming one’s power as they shared pictures of themselves boasting about their Shiba Inu.
This is why the hashtag morphed into an energizing feed that included Megashiba pictures and authentic Shiba Inu whose owners were eager to share their pets with the world.
Although the hashtag was widely shared outside those in the FXIV group, the reason it started initially is that adorable dog mounts aren’t in great supply in FXIV. Various canine mounts are offered in the game; however, none compare to the adorableness of Megashiba. Megashiba.
There’s also the Kamuy collection of mounts; however, they sport a more noble and gallant appearance rather than cute. There were some mounts, like the Lone Hellhound and Fenrir mounts, which could be obtained via PVP (currently unavailable), and the Cerberus you can get in exchange for clearing Delubrum Reginae. Delubrum Reginae Raid, however, falls into the category of ferocious.
The Megashiba, however, is round and soft with shining eyes that exude adorableness. It is a unique animal with three actions you can perform when mounted, including barking, tail-wagging, and making sad faces; each one is packed with individuality.
The well-known Twitter account, Do You Pet the Dog, showcasing the animals of gaming, also posted a tweet about the Megashiba, which showed gamers can play with the pet. The tweet garnered a lot of retweets and could have contributed to spreading the word about the Megashiba even more.
With its unique three actions, The Megashiba stands out as a much more elaborate dog that dares to be adorable in the middle filled with dangerous dog breeds.
