Pre 1.10 Solo Method
The first single farmable tome is located in the first courtyard. You go into DM West via the left door. Go to the wall on your left and gaze North. You can look for the book with any vision capability ( Eye of Kilrogg, Mind Vision… or simply purchase one (an Ornate Spyglass). In the ornate Ornate Spyglass, press the button to crouch to get a better view. There are two benches and up to three petrified Treants wandering around (they’re tiny trees). Find a frank red book on the ground, where they are walking, and between the bear and deer statues. One in seven will likely have a book lying there. (Note this Terrain Distance, under Video Options, is unavoidable when you use the Spyglass).
To get the book, just run around the courtyard, keeping clear of the police (this requires a bit of practice but isn’t too tricky.) You can distract from the 4 Petrified creatures by some means — fear, AE fear, or pets tanking or something else similar — take it out and then run.

Soloing in the Lethtendris book
This method alone requires the player to have stealth. That is, having the skills of a Rogue or a Druid is very beneficial.
The route starts by taking the shorter cut direction into DM East. From here, go straight ahead and leap onto the edge of the heightened slope. Do not drop down. Continue along the edge until you get to the point where you can say goodbye to the trees and go into the Demon’s locations; you’ll make a right turn once you reach the wall. You will find an open hallway to your left. Be careful when you’ve gotten this far because a Darkspawn Shadowstalker is scouting the area, and he can detect your concealment. Once he’s gone, you turn right and go through the door toward the edge of the space. You’ll see a staircase leading up to the second level. If you follow that path, you’ll soon be able to see Lethtendris along with her pet, Pimgib. In the far left corner of the floor, there’s a point of spawn location for the novel. It’s either there, or you’ll need to reset it and then have another try. If you’re finished with nothing but empty hands or with the aid of a book, then die or leave to reset your instances. However, you’re only allowed to be only five occasions each hour. Therefore, make sure you are aware!
Alternate strategy
This method alone requires stealth. That is, having the skills of a Rogue or a Druid can help considerably.
Start at the back entrance and then go to DM East (via the pavilion north of Camp Mojache). When you enter the first large room, you must hug the left wall to keep from breaking the warp wood sphere at the root of the tree. After you have cleared two wandering lashers, move right towards the center of the room. Line with the warp wood Pod to the left. It is essential not to explode another warp wood pod (to your left of the three demons) and cause angry to a Shadowstalker (to your left). When you are at the two roaming lashers, turn left and directly target the Demon visible to the left at the far end of the area. The objective here is to keep from popping the warp wood pods left (the one you initially targeted) or to your right (hidden behind the giant roots of the trees).
Be aware of the lashers and try to avoid hitting them. A couple of steps before bumping into the Demon you’re trying to target, turn left to focus on the tunnel. The tunnel will be entered. The tunnel contains a roaming elite level 56 (usually) Shadowstalker that you must kill. This should be easy for anyone with a level 60 druid or rogue. Continue through the tunnel, then turn left to enter the next demon room. Stay in the middle of the ramp and proceed across the space. There are warp wood pods towards the right (between one Demon at a time and the initial lasher) and later on the right (under the pergola), so you must keep a straight line. Before the final pillar, you should turn right and then go over to the top of the hill. Another rogue Shadowstalker is located via the round ramp beneath the Lethtendris ramp. It is a tyrant if you get too close. Make your way through the Lethtendris ramp, and you’ll be able to see Lethtendris and her pet imp. You can check the area at the end of the platform to find the book (visible when you have climbed on the ramp). Whether it’s there or not, keep walking on the platform and return to the direction you came from. After that, you can jump down and then return similarly.
