The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn Game Guide
Miraak (Dragon Language: Mir-Aak, “Allegiance-Guide”) is the principal antagonist in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn, The first known Dragonborn (according to him, locals from Solstheim and Hermaeus Mora) as well as a dragon priest.
History
In the past, in which dragons had supreme power over mortals, Miraak was a dragon priest for the Island of Solstheim. He could access the Black Book, which eventually led him to the service of Hermaeus Mora, known as the Daedric King of Knowledge and Fate, who taught him the means of immense power that was a dragon’s shout capable of manipulating dragons to his wishes.
With this secret knowledge that he had, Miraak turned on his dragon masters and used the ability and power of Dragonborn to devour the souls of their masters to grow ever more powerful. In the Dragon War, the ancient Nord heroes Hakon One-Eye Gormlaith Golden-Hilt and Felldir The Old begged for Miraak to utilize his Dragonborn power to help them defeat Alduin. But Miraak did not want to help and instead launched to rebel against the dragons. In the wake of his deceit, the dragons destroyed their temple on Solstheim.
His revolt was unsuccessful, and the rebel was defeated by a Dragon Priest known as Vahlok, who appointed his jailer who restrains him from Solstheim. [1The story goes on to say that other accounts say that at the exact moment, Vahlok was close to killing Miraak, Hermaeus Mora rescued Miraak by taking Miraak to his realm in Apocrypha. The dragons appointed Vahlok as the new ruler on the Island. However the appointment was made before Vahlok was required to swear an oath to keep watch for the return of Miraak, which earned the name “The Jailor. ” 2
While this was happening, Miraak stayed in the realm of Apocrypha until he accumulated enough influence and power to return to Solstheim. Eventually, he was successful in 2004 in the year 4E201.

Personality
Miraak is often portrayed as a somewhat reckless and arrogant person who believes that his Dragonborn heritage is superior to the dragons he used to master. After meeting his fellow Last Dragonborn, Miraak claims that in comparison to them, they’ve only killed “few dragons” and do not yet fully comprehend the potential of the Dragonborn like himself (unless you have completed the quest entirely, in which case has been accomplished and in that scenario Miraak will begrudgingly express his admiration for Dragonborn Dragonborn). Miraak also believes that he is above the rule of Hermaeus’s Mora. Miraak has also been described as a creature seeking power and has been known to bind himself to Hermaeus to acquire forbidden knowledge and ability.
Perhaps because of his arrogance, Miraak is shown to be a formidable individual because he was not just able to overcome the Dragons that he fought and defeat them, but also adept at devouring the majority of them before the defeat, as a total of 21 different Dragon Skeletons can be seen all around and inside his temple.
Miraak is adamantly independent and appears driven solely by his desire for power. This is evident in his first betrayal of the Dragons at the peak of their strength and his resistance to the consequences of Apocrypha because it is believed that all who go there are entangled by their desire for knowledge and are unable to escape and return while Miraak seemed unaffected.
In the final battle he fought against the Dragonborn in his last match, he says that Hakon, along with the other Nord heroes, wanted to use him to kill Alduin; however, he decided not to pursue this for personal reasons. But, if Alduin had already been defeated when he met him, he’ll declare that he could kill the world-eating as a further indication of his arrogance.
Interactions
Dragonborn
Following starting the mission ” The Way of the Voice,” two Cultists will summon and inquire of the Dragonborn whether they are genuinely Dragonborn. After this conversation, they’ll strike. Once they have been killed, they will be buried. A note that contains an order to be killed by their “False” Dragonborn to be able to Miraak is found on their bodies. The quest is taken to Solstheim, the Island. Solstheim.
On the Island, If you ask around, Raven Rock will lead to someone suggesting that The Temple of Miraak be examined. It will be discovered that Miraak is now taking over the inhabitants of Solstheim by using The all-maker stones.
The Temple of Miraak
Miraak faces his Last Dragonborn.
Miraak is seen in the very first way at the adventure’s close. When they find The Black Book: Dreaming Dreams within the temple’s depths and the Dragonborn is transported into Apocrypha in the realm of Hermaeus’s Mora. The moment it is discovered, Miraak will strike the Dragonborn to the ground and tell them that they don’t know the power of the Dragonborn. He will then say that they will wait for his return, just like all of Tamriel, before instructing his followers to take his Dragonborn into Nirn and ride off on the back of a dragon.
If the Dragonborn take down a dragon, even if it already has a dragon soul, whether in Solstheim or Skyrim, Miraak will briefly appear and challenge the Dragonborn and then absorb the Dragon’s soul, and then vanish.
At the Summit of Apocrypha
Miraak returns after the quest to take down his fellow Dragonborn and eat their souls, allowing him to return to Solstheim. Miraak starts with a brief monologue while his dragons, Relonikiv and Kruziikrel, are seated in nearby arches.
Miraak’s demise
During the fight, dragons circled the top. Every time Miraak is close to death and is near the end, he summons an individual dragon, consuming its soul to bring back his health. When the three dragons are eaten, he is finally defeated.
After losing, Hermaeus appears, impales him with a tentacle and expresses his sadness. Then Miraak is destroyed, leaving an emaciated body. Hermaeus Mora transfers his power to the Last Dragonborn. The Dragonborn is then absorbed by Miraak’s soul, giving him between five and ten souls of the Dragon and any souls Miraak might have taken. As a result of the soul’s absorption, the Dragonborn can only remain as a dead skull, and it is impossible for the Dragonborn cannot be capable of seeing the face of Miraak without removing the mask using the console.
It is possible to climb Mount Sahrotaar to take a flight to the top of the mountain where Miraak resides. Be aware that you can kill a few people on one Island while you’re there, but it’s unnecessary. You’ve observed that the Dragon follows an established path, meaning you’ll encounter your foe sooner or later. Your appearance will surprise him and give you a chance to strike first.
The battle will be fought according to order – when Miraak’s health drops to a specific level (around 30 per cent), and he teleports to an inaccessible spot on the map. He will then remove the soul from one nearby Dragon (therefore healing injuries). The process will repeat itself four times. The final one that dies will be Sahrotaar, who may attempt to attack you before the final battle (using Bend Will again, which will end his life).
The strategy to defeat Miraak will be reasonably straightforward – remain near him when possible and strike when you’re in close-range combat (he’s much more dangerous in an open fight). The foe can use multiple spells, especially electricity, but there are better choices in regular combat. If you only have some healing potion and are in a position to fight well, you’ll be good to go.
If defeat miraak is left with poor health and there aren’t any further Dragons within the region, Hermaeus Mora will show up and take him down. In this way, the main adventure, Dragonborn, will conclude. Before you leave the hostile land in Apocrypha, look for your enemy’s body and then use your book within the room to win another reward. You can utilize the dragon souls you’ve collected (11 in all) to obtain poorly distributed skill points. This convenient feature can be used multiple times as you want (by a return to your place).
